Comparing between Lamivudine and adefovir dipivoxil in treatment of hepatitis B patients with liver fibrosis

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of lamivudine and adefovir dipivoxil on chronic hepatitis B patients with hepatic fibrosis and changes of serum markers.Methods 69 cases of chronic hepatitis B patients with hepatic fibrosis were randomly divided into lamivudine therapy group and adefovir dipivoxil treatment group to observe the changes in liver function and liver fibrosis markers: hyaluronic acid(HA),IV collagen(CIV) level;the results for each of the groups were compared.Results Adefovir dipivoxil treated group showed significantly decrease in the expression of hyaluronic acid(HA),IV collagen(CIV) level than control group(P0.01).Conclusion Adefovir dipivoxil therapy showed better efficacy in the treatment of hepatitis B patients with liver fibrosis.
