Abstract

Through different historical perspectives,Japanese scholars began to review the relationship between Japan and East Asian community and set the role of Japan in East Asian regional cooperation.Japanese scholars who positively regard ancient East Asia history advocate to learn the lessons of modern Japanese colonialism and imperialism.So Japan should actively participate in constructing East Asian community.While scholars who put emphasis on diversity of East Asian history maintain that Japan should utilize western values and non-Asian political powers to develop regional cooperation in East Asia.On the contrary,scholars that held the opnion of breaking away from Asia and merging into Europe firmly oppose Japan to participate in the construction of East Asia community.
