The Diagnostic Value of MR Diffusion Weighted Imaging,Perfusion Weighted Imaging and Dynamic Contrast Enhanced Imaging in Breast Lesions

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of diffusion weighted imaging,perfusion weighted imaging and dynamic contrast enhanced MRI in breast lesions.Materials and Methods Dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI,diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) and T2*weighted-first pass perfusion weighted imaging(PWI) of the breasts were performed in 80 female patients with suspected breast lesions before surgery. The MR imaging data were retrospectively analyzed. Using histological results as the gold standard,the diagnostic sensitivity,specificity and accuracy of the dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI,DWI,and PWI were calculated and compared.Results There were significant differences between the malignant and benign lesions at ADC value (P0.05),the sensitivity and specificity and accuracies of ADC value for malignant lesions were 80%,89.19% ,79.38%;the maximum signal reduction ratio of the malignant lesion was higher than that of the benign lesions (P0.05),the sensitivity and specificity and accuracy of PWI were 81.82%、83.78%、82.61%,the sensitivity and specificity and accuracies of DEC-MRI for malignant lesions was 76.36%、83.78%、79.35%。The combination of DWI,PWI and DCE-MRI had a highter sensitivity,specificity and accuracy of 92.73%,91.89% 92.39%.Conclusion The DWI and T2* weighted-first pass perfusion MRI can help to differentiate benign and malignant breast lesions.
