Experience of therapeutic method to refractory periapical periodontitis combining root canal therapy during surgical operation

Objective To study the comprehensive therapeutic effect of refractory periapical periodontitis. Methods 27 cases with refractory periapical periodontitis were cured with periapical curettage,apicectomy and retrogade filling were combined when necessary. Results Of all the 27 patients followed a year,18 were cured,7 were improved,and 2 with Ineffective treatment,the effective rate was 92.6%. Conclusions The comprehensive therapeutic method to refractory periapical periodontitis combining root canal therapy with surgical operation was complete removing the focus,shortening treatment time,and with high effects.
