Observations on the Therapeutic Effect of Acupuncture plus Rehabilitation on Hemiplegic Stroke

Objective To investigate the efficacy of acupuncture plus rehabilitation training in treating limb dyskinesia in hemiplegic stroke patients.Methods Fifty hemiplegic stroke patients were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups,25 cases each.The treatment group received acupuncture plus rehabilitation training and the control group,routine medication.The therapeutic effects were evaluated and compared using the simplified Fugl-Meyer Motor Scale after 2 months.Results The Fugl-Meyer Motor Scale score was significantly higher in the treatment group than in the control group after treatment(P0.01).The total efficacy rate was 88.0% in the treatment group and 44.0% in the control group;there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups(P0.01).Conclusion Acupuncture plus rehabilitation training can evidently improve limb motor function and quality of life in hemiplegic stroke patients.
