The Influence of Creative Treason upon Literary Translation

Translation is a complicated activity which concerns many factors. Translators were always placed in a dilemma between fidelity and treason in the traditional translation studies which follow the principle of fidelity. “Creative treason” makes people think about the essence and characteristics of translation on a higher level. This paper is written in an attempt to prove the inevitability of creative treason in the process of literary translation and its arch value from the perspective of reception theory and intercultural exchange.
