Abstract
The algorithm of surface reconstruction in reverse engineering based on the secondary development of CATIA is proposed as a solution to the problem that the generation of the splines of sections needs many surface point coordinates, which is prone to error because of heavey workload.Firstly, the control points are read by using VBA program, and the splines of former sections are generated automatically in the generative shape design of CATIA.Then, the design of surface reconstruction is finished by loft command of CATIA,a method to reconstruct the surfaces model in reverse engineering based on CATIA VBA.The experimental results show that the method can achieve the surface reconstruction.
