Therapeutic Effect of L-carnitine Combined with Meglumine Cyclic Adenylate on Chronic Congestive heart Failure

Objectives To evaluate the clinical effect and safity of L-carnitine(L-CN) combined with meglumine cyclic adenylate(MCA) in treating patients with chronic congestive heart failure.Methods 30 cases with final diagnosis of CHF were randomly divided into two groups,L-CA combined with MCA group(combined treatment group,30 cases) and MCA group(28 cases).MCA group was treated with MCA by vessel injection about 180mg,once a day based on the basic therapy.Combiend treatment group was treated also with L-CN by vellel injection about 3 g,once a day based on the therapy of MCA group.The therapeutic period is 2 weeks.NYHA staging,6 min walk test,LVEF and LVEDD measured by echocardiography were measured before and after the therapy after 4 weeks between two groups.Results There was no significant difference between the two groups before therapy.(P0.05)The heart function and LVEF increased significantly and LVEDD decreased significantly in both groups,but the patients in the group with a combination application of L-CN and MCA has a better clinical effect and a improved heart function than the control group(P0.05).Conclusion Good therapeutic effect was achieved on the group with comnbined treatment without obvious side effect.
