Abstract
To explore the clinical significance of serum pepsinogen subgroup's(pepsinogen,PG) content level in serum of Helicobacter pylori(Hp) infected people, the content of serum pepsinogen subgroup's(PG Ⅰ,PG Ⅱ) in 51 Helicobacter pylori positive patients and in 34 normal controls was determined by the Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay. The results showed that there were significantly difference on serum PG II values between Hp-positive group and Hp-negative group, but no significantly difference on serum PG I values. The ratio of serum PG I/ PG II between Hp-positive group and Hp-negative group had a significant difference. The increase of serum PG Ⅱ and the decrease of PGⅠ/ PGⅡ ratio were proven to be a risk of gastric cancer. The serum pepsinogen could be used as a serum marker for screening and diagnosis of gastric cancer.
