Advances in Study on Water Resources Security in China

The water resource is one of the natural resources that the mankind depended on for existence and development,and one of the controlling factors of the ecology and environment.Also it is an important strategic economic resource,which is retarding the rapid,healthy and sustainable development of economy in our country day by day.China is a country with the frequent of water resource shortage,floods and droughts,and the serious pollution of water.Therefore,the security of water resources in China is serious,which has already had a serious effect on grain security,ecological security and economic security.Advances within domestic literatures on water resources security are summed up as follows:1)the connotation of water resources;2)the measure of water resources security;3)the assessment of water resources security;4)the countermeasure of water resources security.This paper has discussed the insufficiency existing in the researches of water resources security in this foundation and has carried on the forecast to the researches in the future.
