Abstract

146 root canals in 62 teeth for root canal therapy(RCT) in elderly patients(aged 60-73 years) were randomly divided into P and H groups.ProTaper machine with nickel titanium file was used in P group(31 teeth,74 root canals),and stainless steel file in H Group(31 teeth,72 root canals).Root canal preparation time,root spread reaction,and canal filling effects were compared between 2 groups.The root canal preparation and filling in group P are better than in group H(P0.05).The time consumption of RCT in group P was shorter than in group H.
