Abstract

Objective To compare the therapeutic efficacy between continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion(CSII) and multiple subcutaneous insulin injection(MSII) in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Forty eight patients with type 2 diabetes were randomly divided into CSII group(n=26) and MSII group(n=22).Fasting blood glucose(FBS),2 hours postprandial blood sugar(2hBG),the time of blood glycose control, the insulin administration dose and the rate of hypoglycemia were observed and compared between the two groups before and after the treatments. Results There were significant differences between the two groups in FBS, 2hBG,the time of blood glycose control, the insulin administration dose and the rate of hypoglycemia(P0.01).Conclusion The two methods could decrease the blood glucose level, and CSII works better than MSII.
