Abstract

Objective To assess the affection of plasma BNP on prognosis in patients of heart failure. Methods Plasma BNP levels in 86 patients with HF(NYHA II、Ⅲ、IV) and 86 controls were determined with fluorescence immunoassay.ResultsThe plasma BNP levels were gradually higher with the decrease of cardiac function(NYHA II、Ⅲ、IV).The plasma BNP levels in patients with NYHA II to IV were significantly higher than those of controls(P 0.05, respevtively). Conclusion The plasma BNP concentration is an important marker to the severity and prog-nosis of heart failure.
