Abstract
Synthesized 2-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazoleazo)-4-methyl-5-sulfopropylaminobenzoic acid. Studied its chromogenic property with Cu~(2+),Ni~(2+),Co~(2+). Results show that it can form stable compounds with Cu~(2+),Ni~(2+),Co~(2+). The maximum absorptions of these compounds are at 628 nm,590 nm,583 nm, and their mole absorptivities (e)are 8.4×10~4 , 5.8×10~4 and 4.8×10~4,respectively.Results also show that this material can be used as a good spectrophotometric chromogenic agent for some metal ions.
