Abstract
Objective To study the lead-removing effect of Paiqian Granules in lead-exposed mice. Methods Fifty male mice weighed from 18g to 22g were randomly divided into five groups of blank control, model control and low, middle, high dose groups. In model control and low, middle, high dose groups, the mice freely drank 0.1% lead acetate trihydrate solution. Then, the mice in low, middle, high dose groups were additionally administered with Paiqian Granules by gavage for 30 days at doses of 2, 4, 8g/kg BW, respectively. The mice in blank control and model control groups were given deionized water for 30 days. At the end of the experiment, samples of whole blood, liver and femur were collected for lead detection by GF-AAS. Results Compared with model control group, the lead content in the liver of mice in low, middle, high dose groups significantly decreased. But, there was no significant difference for the lead content in the blood or femur of mice in all groups. Conclusion Paiqian Granules can promote lead excretion in mice.
