Breeding and Application of Late Restorer Line Enhui 58 of Medium Indica Hybrid Rice with Resistance to Rice Blast

[Objective] The research aimed to introduce the breeding and application of late restorer line Enhui 58 of medium indica hybrid rice with resistance to rice blast.[Method] The breeding process,characteristics,combinations performance and seed-producing technology essentials of Enhui 58 were introduced.[Result] Enhui 58 was a late restorer line of medium indica rice that was bred in cross between of a strong and good restorer line Minghui 63(as maternal parent) and a restorer line Miyang 46 with resistance to rice blast(as paternal parent) by Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Enshi Autonomous Prefecture of Hubei Province.This restorer line had characteristics such as good rice quality,resistant to rice blast,strong resilience,high combining ability,enough pollen amount,more concentrated flowering time and good leaf and plant types.Combinations performed excellent.Seed production should deal with sowing gap stage between maternal and paternal parent,cultivate strong seedlings,confirm row ratio between maternal and paternal parents and manage fertilizer and water scientifically.[Conclusion] Enhui 58 was a kind of rice variety with resistance to rice blast and had high extension value,which had became one of main rice varieties in Hubei Province.
