Abstract

Abjective To explore the X-ray and MRI on the diagnosis of chondromalacia patella in 85 patients through clinical performance of X-ray and MRI studies. Methods 85 cases which suspected chondromalacia patella undergoing Anteroposterior and lateral X-ray films of knee and MRI examination, comparative and analysis the results of X-ray and MRI examination. Rusults X-ray: Hyperosteogeny of posterior edge of the patella 25 cases; Low-density area without hardening of posterior edge of the patella 22 cases; Cystic degeneration of posterior edge of the patella 10 cases; The joint space of Patella and Fumur significantly narrows 25cases;Unstsble of the joint of Patella and Fumur 22 cases;Without positive performance 28 cases. MRI: Chondromalacia patella I 33 cases; Chondromalacia patella II 28 cases; Chondromalacia patella III 7 cases; Chondromalacia patella VI 13 cases; Without positive performance 4 cases. Conlusion Mostly Chondromalacia patella can be found by X-ray,while X-ray is not sensitive to early Chondromalacia patella ; MRI is superior to X-ray on early diagnosis of Chondromalacia patella.
