Abstract
The preparation of an anionic gelatin extracted from leather waste as paper reinforcer was studied in this paper, which has been prepared from gelatin by amidation with maleic anhydride and grafting co - polymerization with acrylic acid. The influences of the condition of the amidation on substitution degree of the amino groups of gelatin were analyzed by the orthogonal experiment. On the basis of these researches, the appropriate reaction conditions were found.
