Effects of Candesartan to Left Ventricular Mass in Treatment for Primary Hypertension with Left Ventricular Hypertrophy

Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the role of AngⅡ receptor blocker in treatment to primary hypertension with left ventricular hypertrophy and its effects to myocardial mass,so as to indicate the anti-myocardial hypertrophy effect of this medicine.Methods:Fifty patients diagnosed primary hypertension with left ventricular hypertrophy were enrolled.They had been asked to take Candesartan 4-8mg/d,for 3 months.Results:Patients' BP,IVST,LVPWT,LVDd,LVMI were significantly lowered after 3 months' treatment with Candesartan.Conclusion:Candesartan could ameliorate the left ventricular hypertrophy caused by primary hypertension in a relatively short term.
