Impact of candesartan on blood pressure variability and left ventricular hypertrophy in patients with essential hypertension

Abstract
Objective To observe the impact of candesartan on blood pressure variability and left ventricular hypertrophy in patients with essential hypertension.Methods 72 cases of patients with essential hypertension treatment in our hospital from June 2011 to May 2012,to be given candesartan orally 12 weeks,were compared in blood pressure variability and left ventricular mass index changes before and after treatment.Results After 12 weeks of candesartan treatment,the variability of blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension significantly reduced(P0.05),and left ventricular mass index decreased significantly(P0.05).Conclusion Candesartan can reduce blood pressure variability and reverse left ventricular hypertrophy in patients with essential hypertension,which improve left ventricular function and prognosis.
