A Comparative Study of the Teaching Approaches of College English Writing

The writers of this paper have worked out a new model of teaching of college English writing,which integrates the advantages of product approach,process approach,genre-based approach and task-based approach.The new model is compared with product approach and process approach in an experimental research.The results show that the new teaching model has achieved the best teaching effect among the three approaches.The study suggests that only by applying the advanced teaching theories to the reality of Chinese college English teaching and integrating the advantages of various teaching approaches,can the ideal teaching effect be achieved.
