Abstract
Using ammonium persulfate(APS) as the initiator, methyl methacrylate(MMA) as the hard monomer, butyl acrylate(BA) and ethyl acrylate(EA) as the soft monomers and acrylic acid(AA) as the functional monomer, anionicnonionic compound reactive emulsifier(WE-9) as the emulsifier, an emulsifier-free acrylate emulsion was synthesized by pre-emulsification.The influence of monomers content and emulsifier content on properties of the emulsion was discussed. The results showed that the emulsifier-free acrylate emulsion has excellent combination properties, and can all meet the application requirements of the reflective fabric processing when the content of(EHA+BA) is 80 wt%,and the contents of MMA,AA and WE-9 are 15 wt%,5 wt% and 1.2 wt%,respectively.
