Observation of decoction for nourishing yin,tranquillizing liver yang and reducing blood pressure on the treatment of hypertension

Objective To observe the effect of decoction for nourishing yin,tranquillizing liver yang and reducing blood pressure on the treatment of hypertension.Methods 229 cases of hypertension were randomly divided into 2 groups.150 patients in treatment group were treated by decoction for nourishing yin,tranquillizing liver yang and reducing blood pressure.79 patients in control group received Nifedipine tablets.2 groups were 10 d as a course of treatment.The clinical efficacy and blood pressure changes were observed after 4 courses.Results The total effective rate in treatment group(97.33%) was higher than that in control group(86.06%,P0.05).Blood pressure after treatment was lower than those before treatment in two groups(P0.05).There was no significant difference between two groups on blood pressure after treatment(P0.05).Conclusion Decoction for nourishing yin,tranquillizing liver yang and reducing blood pressure is more effective than western medicine on the treatment of hypertension,the antihypertensive effect was obvious and worthy of clinical application.
