Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of MEBO in preventing skin flap necrosis after excision of breaat cancer. Method:122 patients with breast cancer were subjected to mastectomy. 64 of them were treated locally with sterile MEBO gauze immediately after operation and the wounds were pressure bandaged. 58 of them were treated with routine method with pressure bandage. A comparison of the manifestation of ischemia and necrosis of the skin flap was made. Result: No skin flap necrosis was found in 64 patients with the wounds treated with MEBO gauze. 10 out of the 58 patients treated with routine method had skin flap necrosis. Conclusion: MEBO can prevent skin flap necrosis after excision of breast cancer.
