Efficacy Observation of Treatment of Chronic Skin Ulcer with MEBO Combined with Wound and Ulcer Dressing

Objective To observe the treatment efficacy of MEBO combined with wound and ulcer dressing in treating chronic skin ulcers.Methods The 38 patients with chronic skin ulcers were treated with MEBO combined with wound and ulcer dressing on their 75 wounds.MEBO was smeared onto early or superficial ulcer,followed by bandaging with wound and ulcer dressing.Medium stage or rather deep ulcer was smeared with MEBO followed by bandaging with MEBO gauze.And,later stage wounds were simply bandaged with wound and ulcer dressing;the wounds with hidden cavity were treated with MEBO gauze for filling and draining.Healing conditions of all wounds were observed.Results Total effective rate for 75 ulcer wounds of 38 patients is 100%,which number is 66.7%,95.5%,98.5%and 100.0%on the7 th,14th,28 th day and the 2nd month of treatment respectively;the healing rate for the 75 ulcers is 80.0%,which number is0%,15.0%,50.8%and 74.2%on the 7th,14 th,28th day and the 2nd month of treatment respectively.Conclusion Treatment of chronic skin ulcer with MEBO combined with wound and ulcer dressing features reliable effect,convenient operation,being cost effective and safe use,which is an effective therapy for chronic skin ulcer,worth being widely promoted in root hospitals.
