Abstract

Objective: To observe the efficacy and the advantages of MEBO for treating burn wounds in grass root hospitals . Method:All the 45 patients were treated with MEBO, and were observed wound infection, pain, healing time and scar formation rate. Results: All the 45 patients cured. Superficial 2nd degree wounds healed in 8 days, deep 2nd degree wounds healed in 23 days. 3 rd degree wounds healed in 35 days.Hyper plastic scar formation rate of deep 2nd degree wounds was 20.0%,the scar appearance and elasticity were good, without dysfunction. 3rd degree wounds healed with superficial type scar. The scar was soft and elasticity was poor. Conclusion: MEBO is a good remedy for burn, it is reliable and simple, and has the advantages of anti-infection, stopping pain soon, scar-reducing .It is very suitable to be popularized to hospitals.
