Abstract
Objective To observe the value of real-time tissue elastography (RTE) in diagnosing liver fibrosis. Methods RTE was performed in 70 patients with chronic hepatitis B to classify them into five groups ( scores 0-4,0:negative,1-4 :positive). The elastogram were compared with the fingdings of pathology. Results Fifty-two patients were RTE positive,18 were RTE negative. The sensitivity, specificity and the accuracy rate of RTE for diagnosing liver fibrosis was 97.73% (43/44),65.38% (17/26),85.71% (60/70),respectively. Taking RTE positive as the diagnosis standard of liver fibrosis, the area under the curve of ROC was 0.92. Conclusion RTE is a new and promising sonography-based noninvasive method for the assessment of liver fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis B.
