Abstract

Objective To know the germicidal property of monophyletic preparation of solid chlorine dioxide disinfectant. Methods Suspension quantitative germicidal test and field disinfection trial method were used to carry out experimental study. Results The killing logarithm values of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli in suspension exposed to the disinfectant solution containing chlorine dioxide 50 mg/L for 2.5 min were 5.0 and that of spores of Bacillus subtilis var.niger exposed to the disinfectant solution containing chlorine dioxide 300 mg/L for 20 min was 5.0.Aerosol spraying disinfection of 20 m3 aerosol chamber for 60 min with 300 mg/L chlorine dioxide disinfection solution at a dosage of 10 ml/m3 killed 99.90% of Staphylococcus albus in air.Disinfection of 60 m3 office with the same dosage caused 90.0% withering rate of natural bacteria in air.Wiping the table surface with the disinfection solution containing chlorine dioxide 50 mg/L or immersion of texile in the disinfection solution for 5 min caused 96.89% and 97.41% withering rates of the natural bacteria respectively. Conclusion The chlorine dioxide disinfectant has good efficacy in killing both vegetative forms of bacteria and bacterial spores.
