Abstract

Objective To observe the dynamic change of serum MMP-9 after early cerebral infarction, and its relationnship with the prognosis. Methods 62 patients with acute cerebral infarction were selected as test group, and 28 non-symptom patients were selected as control group.Blood samples were collected of all the patients on the timespot of 24,72 h and 7 d.ALL the patients were followed up for three months and evaluated with Barthal Index. Results In early stage of acute cerebral infarction, the serum level of MMP-9 rised significantly. It was much higher at 72 h than that of the other two timespots(P0.05).The level of serum MMP-9 was paralleled with the prognosis of the disease(P0.05).Conclusion The level of serum MMP-9 in acute cerebral infarction rised obviously, and was positively correlated with the severity of disease.
