Abstract

Objective To study the HIV knowledge level and high-risk sexual behaviors among men who have sex with men (MSM) and analyze the influence factors,to provide scientific evidence for effective intervention measure. Methods Snowball sampling approach were used to recruit MSM participants in the MSM community, and the survey was performed by anonymous self-designed questionnaire. Results Among 118 participants, their awareness rate about HIV transmission routes (93.4%) was better than their awareness rate about its therapy and policy (15.3%~82.2%).Over the past 3 months,51.6% of the MSM have stated that they have 2 or more sex partners, but only 31.4% of them always use condoms during sexual behaviors. The difference of the score of HIV/AIDS knowledge is significant among MSM who have different age, different education level and different working situation over the past three months (P0.05).The difference of the score of HIV/AIDS knowledge is not significant among MSM who have different amount of sex partners and different using frequency of condoms(P0.05).Conclusion The awareness rate about HIV/AIDS knowledge is different among MSM in Chengdu, and the knowledge is not consistent with the high-risk sexual behaviors. The publicity of treatment and policy on HIV/AIDS should be intensified here.
