Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression of VEGF,VEGF-C and the possible relationship between VEGF,VEGF-C and biological behaviors of human breast carcinoma.Methods:The expression of VEGF and VEGF-C in 87 cases of human breast cancer were assessed by SP immunohistochemistry method.The relationship with clinicalpathological factors,such as status of lymph node and clinical stage,were statistically analyzed.Results:The positive rate of VEGF was 64.4%(56/87),and that of VEGF-C was 56.3%(49/87),and their expressions correlated with tumor size,status of lymph node,clinical stage and histology stage(P0.05),but not with the age and progression-free survival(PFS)(P 0.05).Conclusion:The over-expression of VEGF and VEGF-C has a significant correlation with the growth and metastasis of breast cancer,and it may be a marker to estimate the clinical stage and the prognosis of breast cancer.
