Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effects of two vaginal stump suture methods in abdominal hysterectomy. Methods The double No.7 thread was used to deal with both sides of the angle vascular area of the vaginal stump in 98 cases of the observation group and the conventional suture was used for 76 cases of the control group. We observed the operation time, bleeding volume, postoperative morbidity, the rate of vagina postoperative bleeding, postoperative hospital stay and postoperative follow-up within 3 months. Results There was no significant difference in the operation time and bleeding volume between the two groups(P0.05),while there was a significant difference in the postoperative morbidity, postoperative vaginal bleeding rate, postoperative hospital stay and postoperative complications within 3 months(P 0.01). Conclusion Abdominal hysterectomy performed by means of double No.7 thread to deal with both sides of angle vascular area of the vaginal stump is a preferable approach, worthy of clinical application.
