TWO NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS ERICHSONIUS FAUVEL FROM CHINA (COLEOPTERA:STAPHYLINIDAE, STAPHYLININAE)

The present paper reports two new species of the genus Erichsonius Fauvel from China. A key to the known species is given. The type specimens are deposited in the Department of Bio-logy, Sichuan Teachers College.Erichsonius puncticulosus sp. nov. (figs. 1-2)This new species is very similar to E. affinis (Cameron) from the Himalayas, bur dif-fers from the latter in the diameter of eye distinctly shorter than the temples, vertex with dis-tinct microsculptures, and the male genitalia is specific as shown in figs. 1-2. It also resem-bles E. kobensis (Cameron), E. meurguesae Coiffait and E .nouristanicus Coiffait, but can be se-parated by the male ginitalia.Holotype , Sichuan (Mt. Emei), alt. 710-1120 m. July 24, 1983, collected by Gou Zheng-yue. Allotype , same as the holotype, collected by Lu Ying. Paratypes: 1 , 2, ditto, 1120-1800 m., July 26-28, 1982, collected by Gao Xin-fen; 1 , 2, ditto, 710-1120 m., July 23-24, 1983, collected by Lu Ying and Gou Zheng-yue.Erichsonius pullus sp. nov.This new species is closely allied to E. affinis (Cameron) and E. puncticulosus sp, nov., but differs in the following points: Legs blackish-brown, tarsi yellow; the penultimate segment of antenna broader than long; pronotum with sides almost parallel; elytra and abdomen rather less closely punctate.Holotype, Sichuan (Xide), Aug. 16, 1982, Collected by Lu Ying.
