Utilizing Theme-based Approach to Cultivate College Students' English Comprehensive Application Competence

Abstract

The newly-issued syllabus puts forward the idea that the teaching purpose of college English is to cultivate students' English comprehensive application competence.The author combined theme-based approach into concrete tasks,and applied them to teaching process.In general,students hold a positive attitude to the method and believe it is helpful to the development of students' English comprehensive application competence.
