Abstract

It is a common knowledge that the focus of College English is to strengthen students' English competence and to cultivate their ability for using English for communication.According to Western researches and theories on language competence and ability for use,the author tried cultivating students' ability for using English with a new approach based on Constructivism and Task-based teaching and learning theory by reforming traditional approach,laying out practical objectives,organizing useful teaching and learning activities and implementing student-oriented management.
