Abstract
Objective:To compare the clinical effect between metal cast post core and glass fiber-reinforced post core applied in the restoration of residual crown and root of upper anterior tooth. Method:Among 150 teeth with residual crown and root of upper anterior tooth,64 teeth were restored with metal cast post core and 86 teeth were restored with glass fiber-reinforced post core, then all cases were restored with porcelain fused metal crown.Result:With 0.5 to 2.5 years following study, each 1 case failed for recurrent chronic apicitis.7 teeth failed for root fracture、3 tooth failed for crown loose in the metal cast post core group with 82.81 % success rate. 2 teeth failed for root fracture,1 tooth failed for crown loose in the glass fiber-reinforced post core group with 95.35% success rate. The success rate has significant difference with χ2-test.Conclusion:Glass fiber-reinforced post and light-cure resin core has better clinical effect than metal cast post core used to restore residual crown and root of upper anterior tooth.
