Abstract

[Objective]To investigate clinical effect of mild hypothermia on patients with severe brain injury.[Methods]Sixty patients with severe brain injury from 2004,4 to 2004,12 were randomly divided into two groups; hypothermic group and control group. Each group contained 30 patients. The former was treated with hypothermia in addition to conventional treatment and the control group was given the routine treatment, contrast analysis was performed between two groups.[Results]There were significant differences between mild hypothermal group and control group on intracranial pressure (ICP), blood glucose, heart rate, death rate, cure rate and so on.[Conclusion]Mild hypothermia can reduce the mortality, decline ICP, inhibit high glucose during the early period of severe head injury and increase the cure rate.
