A theoretical analysis of improving the pulverized coal for coke substitution rate for No.1 blast furnace of Handan Iron and Steel Co.

Abstract

Through research on the substitution rate of pulverized coal for coke at Handan Iron Steel Co.,the rate at different stage of operation was calculated.The primary factors affecting the substitution rate were coal ratio and coke ratio,coal and coke fixed carbon mass fraction,oxygen enrichment ratio and so on.The substitution rate decreased obviously as pulverized coal injection increased.With each 10 kg/t increase of coal injection,the substitution rate decreased by 0.038;and with each 1 % increase of w(C) of the pulverized coal,the substitution rate increased by approx 0.049.Improving the oxygen enrichment ratio helped better combustion of the pulverized coal,and increase the substitution rate effectively.The economical pulverized coal injection rate of No.1 blast furnace of Handan Iron and Steel Co.is 120-125 kg/t.
