Implementation of Web-based English Teaching and Training of Students' Autonomous Learning Ability

This study aims to discuss the relationships among the constructivism learning theory,the web-based English teaching and the training of autonomous learning ability.The analysis,which is on the application of the two theories to the web-based English teaching,shows that the new teaching approach with the direction of constructivism learning theory,application of internet resources and the emphasis of individualized teaching,is the major orientation of English teaching reform,because it not only reflects the advanced learning conceptions and properly handles the relationship between learning and teaching,but also gives prominence to the students as subject role and cultivates students' autonomous learning ability.
