A New English Teaching Approach for Promoting Autonomous Learning —A Report on the Teaching of an Experimental Class.

This paper described the experimental classroom teaching which aims to explore a new teaching approach for College English teaching. In the paper, the author points out that College English teaching should focus on how to train students' learning ability, especially ability of autonomous learning. The author also believes that it is high time for College English teaching to shift its direction from lecturing on language forms to helping students set up learning belief and interest, guide the students to reflect and accumulate their learning strategy in order to improve their ability of autonomous learning.
