Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical therapeatic efficacy and safety of Valsartan in combination with Metoprolol in patients with congestive heart failure(CHF). Method 78 patients with CHF were divided randomized into group A( n= 39) and group B( n= 39) Each group received Valsartan(at a dose of 80 mg qd at first, and added to 80 mg bid after a week)on the basis of conventional treatment, and besides this group B took Metoprolol (6 25 mg bid or 12 5~50 mg qd),the study continued for 8 weeks, and the clinical efficacy?blood presure(BP)?heart rate(HR)?heart chest ratio was examed and stroke volume(SV)?cardiac output(CO)?cardiac index(CI)and left ventricular ejection fraction (LEVF) were observed Results Effective rate of group A was 20 5% of obvious efficacy and 84 6% of total efficacy;and that of group B was 30 8% of obvious efficacy and 92 3% of total efficacy, contrast to A group,B group have more excellent systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure(DBP)?EF?HR( P 0 01),and also CO?heart chest ratio( P 0 05) Conclusion The efficacy of Valsartan combined with Metoprolol is more effective than Valsartan alone in therapy of CHF
