Abstract
With the rapid development of economy and the establishment of socialist harmonious society in China, the residents' income both in urban and rural areas had been improved greatly and the income sources and distribution methods had become more and more diverse during the period of 2002 to 2010. However, being influenced directly or indirectly by various transitional factors and the absence of government regulation policy, there were a large gap on income growth rates between different groups, which expanded the residents’ income gap among the urban area interior, rural area interior, urban area and rural area, different industries and different regions. Nowadays, the residents' income gap expands greatly and the problem of unbalanced income distribution has been one of the focuses of the society. Therefore, we should establish the scientific outlook on development and adjust the goal of distribution policy and plans to keep pace with the time. Then we can curb the trend of residents' income gap enlarging and achieve the goal of common prosperity for all people.
