The value of pleural biopsy in the diagnosis of causes in pleural effusion

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the diagnostic value of pleural biopsy on the pleural effusion.Methods:The pleural biopsy in patients with pleural effusion was performed with pleural biopsy needle.Results:148 times of pleural biopsy were performed in 120 patients with pleural effusion,in which 33 cases were diagnosed as tuberculous pleurisy,72 cases as pleural metastasis of lung cancer and 15 cases as other disease.The positive rate of pleural biopsy was 88%.Conclusion:The manipulation of pleural biopsy is simple,and its positive rate of pleural pathologic change is high.It can acquire a accurate pathologic diagnosis,with fewer complication and main value for the diagnosis of unexplained pleural effusion.
