Abstract

OBJECTIVE To explore the value of pleural biopsy in the diagnosis of pleural effusion.METHODS 74 cases with pleural effusion,who were undergone pleural biopsy in the respiration department of Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College from January 2009 to May 2011,were studied retrospectively and analyzed.RESULTS Among the cases,28 cases were malignant pleural effusion(51.9%),22 cases were tuberculous pleural effusion(40.7%),4 cases were non-specific inflammation(7.4%).CONCLUSION Pleural biopsy have important clinical value in the diagnosis of tuberculous pleural effusion and malignant pleural effusion.
