Abstract
The response of several evergreen turfgrasses to drought stress was studied by determining the physiological and biochemical indicators(soil moisture content, free proline content, soluble sugar in leaf,MDA content and SOD).The results showed that it was more scientific and rational to use multi-index to evaluate the drought tolerance, and the order of drought tolerance of tested turfgrasses was Zoysia matrellaPaspalum vaginatumAxonopus affinisZoysia japonica cv.Lanyin 3Stenotaphrum helferi goldenS.helferiEremochloa ophiuroidesAxonopus compressus cv.Zhongda 1A.compressuss.
