Effect of premedication with flurbiprofen axetil on postoperative analgesia of fentanyl

Objective To investigate the effects of premedication with flurbiprofen axetil on postoperative analgesia of fentanyl.Methods Sixty patients undergoing gastrointestinal neoplasm operations were randomly allocated to two groups with 30 cases each,who received postoperative patient controlled intravenous analgesia(PCIA)with fentanyl 1 mg in 100 ml normal saline.Group A was injected flurbiprofen axetil 50 mg before surgery and PCIA was performed.The analgesia was evaluated by VAS scoring,pressing times of PCA and side effects were recorded at 3,6,12 and 24 h after operation.Results The VAS scores and pressing times during analgesia were less in group A than group B(P0.05).There was no significant differences in the incidence of side effects in two groups.Conclusion Premedication with flurbiprofen axetil can enhance the postoperative analgesic effect of fentanyl.
