Abstract
Objective To compare the curative effects and side effects on riperidone and clozapine in the treatment of refactony schizophrenia. Methods 35 patients with refractory schizophrenia were randomly assigned into riperidone group and clozapine group. The course of treatment is 12 weeks, and measured with PANSS and TESS before treatment and1?2?4?8?12 weeks after the treatment. Results Both of the drugs were similar in curative effects. Riperidone showed fewer side effects than clozapine. Conclusion Riperidone is effective and safe in the treatment of refractory schizophrenia.
