Surgical treatment of acromioclavicular dislocation(Tossy III) with clavicular hook plate and anchors

Objective To analyze the clinical result of clavicular hook plate versus clavicular hook plate in coordination with SmithNephew TwinFix suture anchors in the treatment of Tossy typesⅢ acromioclavicular joint dislocation.Methods Two surgical techniques were employed: clavicular hook plate(in group A of 30 cases) and clavicular hook plate with TwinFix suture anchors(in group B of 25 cases).The clavicular hook plates(Group B) were taken out at 3th months.Results All cases had been followed up for more than 6 months.According to Lazzcano criteria,there is no significant difference between group A and group B at 1th,3th and 6th month after operation.Conclusions Applying clavicular hook plate with TwinFix suture anchors is a better method to rebuild the anatomic structure in the treatment of acromioclavicular joint dislocation(Tossy Ⅲ).
