Analysis on Mortality of Intestinal Cancer in Henan Province from 1987 to 2006

Objective To investigate the mortality rate and characteristic distribution of intestinal cancer in Henan Province.Methods The mortality and age-standardized mortality rates from 1987 to 2006 in Henan Province were analyzed by using the data from registration system of all death causes from 1/10 population in Henan Province.Results The crude mortality rate of intestinal cancer from 1987 to 2006 in Henan Province was 5.01/100,000,and the age-standardized mortality rate by Chinese standard population was 4.32/100,000,which accounted for 4.36% of all malignant tumor deaths and ranked fifth.The mortality rate and age-standardized mortality rate were 5.40/100,000 and 5.02/100,000 in males respectively,4.60/100,000 and 3.69/100,000 in females respectively.The mortality rate of intestinal cancer descended in recent twenty years.Conclusions The mortality rate of intestinal cancer is at lower level in Henan Province.
