An Analysis of Mortality of Nasopharyngeal Cancer from 1984 to 2003 in Henan Province

Purpose]To investigate the mortality rate and characteristic distribution of nasopharyngeal cancer in Henan province.[Methods]The mortality and age-standardized mortality rate from 1984 to 2003 in Henan province were analyzed by using the data from registration system of all death cause from 1/10 population in Henan province. [Results]The crude mortality rate of nasopharyngeal cancer from 1984 to 2003 in Hanan province was 1.47/105,and the age-standardized mortality by Chinese standard population was 1.33/105, accounted for 1.46% of all cancers. The mortality rates, age-standardized mortality in male was 1.70/105 and 1.64/105 respectively,1.22/105 and 1.04/105 respectively in female.The mortality of nasopharyngeal descended in recent five year.[Conclusions]Nasopharyngeal cancer mortality was at lower level in Henan province.
